Ribs........ 2/8/2011 10:08:49 AM
Had a strong desire for delicious tangy pork ribs for dinner. Unfortunately I had a long day of non-cooking related activities planned and to make matters worse, the grills were under several inches of snow and ice.......no problem. I have a crockpot, a nice package of lean country style pork ribs and some just made tangy and spicy BBQ sauce.
The first thing to do is chop up a nice big sweet onion. Add a thin layer of BBQ sauce in the bottom of the crockpot, sprinkle in some of the onion, then a layer of the boneless country style pork ribs. Then just repeat this stage layer for layer until everything is in the pot. Finish off the top with a good helping of BBQ sauce and onion.
Set the heat on low and let it cook all day. If your in a hurry or put everything on later in the day, simply put it on high and let her rip. I actually put mine on around lunch time and they were ready for dinner. Served it up with some green beans sauteed with some onion, a little garlic and a slice of bacon....and a nice garlic mashed potato.
I found that the key ingredient here is the BBQ sauce. Don't be chincy, use a good quality tangy sauce....even something a little spicy....you WONT be disappointed.
